Sustainability Commitment

From initial site design to future goals, Nell's has made sustainability a top priority. By encouraging and supporting practices at The Woodland and the local community that regenerate and preserve the ecology around us, we not only protect the land and its inhabitants in the present, but prepare them for the future as well.
Our sites minimal-impact design is complimentary to our use of energy-efficient construction and regenerative initiatives, such as the development of on-site energy production, water-use reduction strategies, natural habitat preservation, and responsible waste management.

Energy & Atmosphere

Our net-zero facilities were designed with an emphasis on energy efficiency and environmental impact. We utilize renewable energy sources such as solar to power our buildings, and smart mechanical systems like geothermal heating and cooling to optimize energy use. Additionally, we enhance ventilation and daylighting to reduce reliance on artificial lighting.

Regenerative Site Design

Regenerative site design for the Woodland focuses on sustainability. We enhance and preserve our ecology through efficient site design that supports native plant diversity while reducing the heat island effect and light pollution. Our approach also includes stormwater management and rainwater harvesting to minimize flooding and support long-term environmental health.

Sustainable Sites

Our sustainable site design for the Woodland minimizes construction pollution and incorporates eco-friendly practices such as incorporating leftover materials into the design or recycling them. We focus on preventing environmental impacts during construction and creating a design and using construction processes that support long-term sustainability.

Building Planning

Our facilities were designed with flexibility in mind; featuring open spaces that can be easily adapted to various needs. Minimizing material use prioritizes sustainability, creating functional interiors that are both versatile and user-friendly

Materials & Resources

Our facilities feature sustainable materials that reduce environmental impact and ensure durability. Additionally, we implemented practices to minimize construction waste, ensuring that excess materials were recycled or repurposed. This approach supports our commitment to sustainability while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.

Water Use Reduction

Our approach to water use reduction in the Woodland facilities focuses on maximizing rainwater collection and minimizing overall water consumption. We incorporate systems to capture and store rainwater for irrigation and other non-potable uses, reducing reliance on municipal water supplies. Additionally, we implement water-efficient fixtures and technologies to lower overall usage.

Building Envelope

Our facilities' building envelope, including walls and windows, were designed for exceptional performance and durability. We use sustainable materials to ensure strong insulation, weather resistance, and long-term reliability. This focus on durability maximizes energy efficiency and extends the lifespan of the building.
